DERRY’S Guildhall and Tower Museum has been closed for a number of days for a deep clean after some staff tested positive for Covid-19.
A spokeswoman for Derry city and Strabane district council said a deep clean of the authority’s Harbour House facilities would also be carried out with staff being relocated or advised to work from home.
Mayor Graham Warke will continue to honour his engagements. However, events planned for the mayor’s parlour at the Guildhall will be rescheduled or held virtually. The spokeswoman apologised for any inconvenience. She said the decision was taken in the interests of health and safety for council staff and the public. It is hoped the buildings can be re-opened to the public on Friday, December 3.
